Dear members and friends of Elwood Shule.
“The Yom Tov High Holydays are a period of introspection and all the more so, now with Oct. 7.We want to find ways we can set our attention to get the most meaningful communal experience that we can. We’re joining together again the same way we did one year ago on October 7 itself. We’re going to be doing it again during these high holydays, trying to find a way to hold on to both those feelings of joy and celebration as we start the year again, along with those feelings of sadness and despair from Oct. 7 and for the past year.
We are pleased to have invited back Rabbi Dovid Rubinfeld who will be the leading Chazzan, joining our own Chazzan Ronny Kowadlo and with assistance from Nate Banky.
“The challenge for all of us is to figure out exactly how to balance the sorrow coupled with hope,”
I, together with Rebbetzin Leah, Shmaya, Yaakov and Ari are excited and look forward to seeing you all in Shule.
Shana Tova U'Metukah
